BIOGRAPHY - ARTIST - PHILIP TAYLOR
Philip Taylor grew up in the Midwest between the Mississippi River and the blues highway US route 61. He has a studio art degree and a radio disk jockey diploma. Taylor is a serious artist who utilizes simple and complex emotions to attack the canvas. Taylor brings an energetic managed approach to his body of work that insures each work is uniquely individual and creative.
Taylor has participated in Solo and Group exhibitions and has work available through many online galleries. Taylor's work can be found in private collections throughout the States.
Action painting, sometimes called 'gestural abstraction', is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas, rather than being carefully applied. The resulting work often emphasizes the physical act of painting itself as an essential aspect of the finished work or concern of its artist.
